چکیده
Unmanned Aerial Systems, or drones, are very helpful tools for managing open-pit mining operations and developing ecological restoration activities. This article presents a method identifying water erosion processes in active quarries by means of drone imagery remote sensing, the absence pre-existing mapping comparison. A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with spatial resolution (SR) >10 cm an orthophoto SR >2.5 were generated from images captured their subsequent photogrammetric processing. By using Geographical Information Systems to process DEM, detailed drainage network was obtained, areas detected separated, watersheds gullies identified. Subsequently, estimated DEM before erosive reconstructed interpolating gully ridges; this serves as reference relief erosion. To calculate volume eroded material, Differences calculated, which estimates difference between previously current DEM. Additionally, we calculated material necessary geomorphological adaptation quarry slope map, two valuable factors closely related monitoring processes. The results obtained allowed us identify quickly accurately type mining. In case water-filled quarries, it would be important characterize subsurface relief. Essentially, presented can applied affordable non-invasive materials create digital grid maps at 10 resolution, obtaining data ready 3D metrics, being practical landscape modelling tool characterizing evolution spaces.

An Uncertainty-based Transition from Open Pit to Underground Mining
There are some large scale orebodies that extend from surface to the extreme depths of the ground. Such orebodies should be extracted by a combination of surface and underground mining methods. Economically, it is highly important to know the limit of upper and lower mining activities. This concern leads the mine designers to the transition problem, which is one of the most complicated problems...
متن کاملStandardized emissions inventory methodology for open-pit mining areas.
INTRODUCTION There is still interest in a unified methodology to quantify the mass of particulate material emitted into the atmosphere by activities inherent to open-pit mining. For the case of total suspended particles (TSP), the current practice is to estimate such emissions by developing inventories based on the emission factors recommended by the USEPA for this purpose. However, there are d...
متن کاملScheduling in iron ore open-pit mining
During the last few years, most production-based businesses have been under enormous pressure to improve their top-line growth and bottom-line savings. As a result, many companies are turning to systems and technologies that can help optimise their supply chain activities. In this paper, we discuss a real-world application of scheduling in the mining industry. This is a highly constrained probl...
متن کاملOpen-pit mining geomorphic feature characterisation
Among the anthropogenic topographic signatures on Earth, open-pit mines are of great importance. Mining is of interest to geomorphologists and environmental researchers because of its implication in geomorphic hazards and processes. In addition, open-pit mines and quarries are considered the most dangerous industrial sector, with injuries and accidents occurring in numerous countries. Their fas...
متن کاملScheduling Tools for Open-Pit Mining Operations
In open-pit mining operations, there are several levels of planning, each of which passes down restrictions to the level below. Each planning task is to determine the order in which material should be mined and how it should be processed, such that blending and utilisation targets are met. The mining operations are subject to various constraints on equipment use, maintenance and other resources...
